Information You Submit
Terms Entered in Search Tools
When you type a name, location, or other query into a third-party search box, the provider operating that tool receives the terms. Young County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy terms govern its collection and use once the query is sent.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or use a contact form, we keep the message and reply details as needed to respond. We do not share the message outside the organization unless doing so is legally required, such as in response to a valid court order or other lawful demand.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary server, security, and analytics systems may collect technical details when a page loads. The data can include:
- Your internet protocol address.
- The browser name and version used for the visit.
- The device class and operating system.
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them.
- The referring website, when one is supplied.
- The date and time associated with a request.
Cookie Controls
Cookies and similar browser storage can help measure how visitors use the site and support site functions. Most browsers allow you to reject, erase, or limit cookies. Blocking them may change how certain features, partner tools, or preferences work.
How Information Is Used
Collected data is used for a limited set of operating purposes:
- To keep pages available, responsive, and secure.
- To send a search request to the selected partner service.
- To understand which Young County resources visitors find useful.
- To identify faults, abuse, and technical problems.
- To display advertising that may reflect general interests.
Privacy Beyond This Website
Links on this site lead to the Young County Sheriff and courts, TDCJ, VINELink, BOP, ICE, other government portals, and outside search services. Their own privacy notices and terms apply after you leave this site. We do not control how those separate operators collect, retain, secure, or share information.
Some advertising providers may use cookies or similar technology on their own systems to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That processing is conducted by the advertising provider under its policies, not as a Young County government function and not through an official jail-record system.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Information may still reach a limited group of service providers or authorities when necessary:
- Search partners that process the query you submit to their tool.
- Analytics providers that help measure site traffic and use.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement or another government body acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use customary administrative and technical safeguards suited to a public reference site. No internet connection, server, email account, or storage system can be promised as completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly request or collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal information, use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify a request, you may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate.
- Delete personal information that no longer needs to be retained.
- Stop or limit certain processing where an applicable right permits it.
These privacy requests concern information held by this private site. A request for a Young County booking/release sheet is different and must go to the government custodian under the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this privacy notice as site functions, service providers, or legal requirements change. A revised version becomes effective when posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use after posting means the current notice applies.
